Two Days, Six Steps

From first knock to flow-tested handoff.

Floor jobs are compact but unforgiving — slope errors and membrane shortcuts show up as leaks, not looks. Every Cromwell floor follows six steps with hold-points you can inspect: after removal (see the substrate), after waterproofing (see the membrane + flood test), and at handoff (flow test + walkthrough). No step gets buried before you can check it.

  1. Diagnose. Moisture map, pan assessment, fixed written quote — free.
  2. Remove. Floor out to a clean wall line; walls, glass protected.
  3. Rebuild base. Slope verified or re-poured; membrane + clamped drain.
  4. Flood test. Pan proven watertight before a single tile is set.
  5. Tile & grout. Full-coverage set, epoxy grout, sealed transitions.
  6. Flow test & walkthrough. Drain proven, punch-listed, care guide in hand.

Cromwell notes

In Cromwell most floors run a day and a half door-to-door: Cromwell's 80s subdivisions are all hitting surround age at once — the same yellowed unit in fifty houses on one street. Shower again 24 hours after grout — we'll time it to the hour, not the day.

FAQ

Common questions

Q01
Do I need to be home?

For diagnosis and walkthrough yes; workdays are fine with a key — contained area, one crew, locked up after.

Q02
What about my glass doors?

Protected in place or removed to padded storage and reinstalled — our responsibility either way, stated in the quote.

Q03
Day-by-day, what happens?

Day one: remove, rebuild base, waterproof, flood test. Day two: tile, grout, detail, flow test, walkthrough. Single-day compressions for simple re-tiles.

Q04
Dust and noise?

Removal morning is the loud half-day; the rest is quiet hand work with barriers and daily cleanup. Condos and occupied homes are routine for us.
